... others 'gypsy'! Without the summer tourists it wouldn't be much at all. Maybe 'Princess' have a stake in most of these businesses too! Anyway the plan was to spend a couple of hours in the city before we travelled the hour journey to the Mount McKinley Wilderness Lodge. This was our opportunity to check out the city and there was every chance our rooms wouldn't be ready at the lodge anyway.   We walked around and checked out a few of the 'gypsy' shops ...

We drove back into the town of Talkeetna to eat at a restaurant Chad (at breakfast) had recommended & as we are walking down the street, we hear someone shout, "Hey C******nay" ~ it was Chad! He was supposed to be back in Anchorage, but clearly he stayed in Talkeetna to drink ...

... it was but it was too big for a fox. We saw a white tip to a bushy tail and figured out later it was probably a coyote. No thanks. We stayed in the car. The aurora was already visible from downtown Talkeetna.

The 28 miles or so to Trapper Creek were brutal. We saw our first corona of the trip. Through the moon roof in the car! Ugh! For anyone that knows me, I was crazed! I couldn't get set up fast enough! A corona ...
