    If the Muslim conversion progressed from west to east (1500s or so) , why then is Lombok Muslim and Bali not, given that Bali sits to the west of Lombok. While you are pondering that, given the short distance between the two islands (32km) why is the landscape and the people noticeably different ?

We went for a meal for Emma's birthday and the restaurant had a live singer who was taking requests so we obviously requested happy birthday!
