We have been travelling back roads through Nova Scotia, avoiding the main highways, in an effort to see the coast & scenic sites. We are also staying in B& B's through tour trip. It's a little sad to come to the last day of comp, but we still have a job to do. I don't know why but races for our division are always scheduled first up. Perhaps they don't think we sleep in. Today was to be no different, first up. So it was our last breakfast in the dining hall, 5:30am ( a luxury sleep in) then on the bus to the regatta centre for the open and women's 500s. Today was to be the longest of the comp. we were up at 4:30, had a quick breakfast and were off to the regatta centre. It was picture perfect when we arrived. There was a mist rising from the water as the sun rose with promises of another hot..hot day. And it was...33 degrees. The road back from Fort Mcmurray was quite uneventful. It took us 30 mins to get back to the spot where we had previously waited for 5.30 hours and some more owing to the consequent traffic congestion.
