      ... like water, warm clothing first aid kit, TORCH and mobile - for the light alone. It was a pre-dominantly flat landscape, very red soil and dry grasses over much of the plains. The hardy, spiked shrubs and trees full of massive nests were the only other vegetation. We saw lots of flighty springbok and a mob (?) of wildebeest - another first for us. And we made it back in one piece tho' very much enjoyed the beverage by the open ...

      ... short 113 NM Flight to Marienthal and we got ready immediately to be off before the Big Guy's arrival. Just as we taxied out the Helicopter approached and we waited to see the show of an Presidential arrival in a Helicopter and Transfer to his Falcon. All went smooth and quick and we where on our way 15minutes later. Quite an Difference to an TFR in the USA with all the paranoid precautions involved. FRE SKY's in NAMIBIA...... ...

      ... get some at the Sossusflei Lodge where I was told by Jannie that they will have some. Take off at Luderitz was IMC but within 2 minutes I was on top and within 5 minutes over the Desert with an 20 Degree Temperature rise and no clouds, amazing how the Cold Atlantic Water influences this Luderitz climate, it is always Windy and cold & Low overcast at night and morning clearing up in the afternoon with strong Winds towards the ...

      ... and the springbok pronk as soon as we get close. Back to camp across the pan and we drive straight into the cheetah pen. the three orphan males snarl and hiss at Castro to hurry up. Obediently they sit on a mound to have their photo taken. They know the routine.
