From Vienna to Paris
... size of a small country, it is immense. There cant be any grander buildings anywhere. The one thing in our favour was it was Saturday and the fountains were on, and they are beautiful.
We stumbled back to the train, all that heat training in the heat wave in Greece and all that fitness training in the Alps and on the bike had not been enough to help cope with Versailles. At least everyone else on the train looked as bad or worse.

Sur le week-end...
... Eiffel from a distance. I meandered my way back through St Germain, then returned home for the dreaded task of laundry. This was my first trip to the laundromat, and it was actually kind of fun! I sat and listened to music and wrote in my journal, and in general the time passed by quickly to the hum of the machines.
In the evening we did our homework for tomorrow, and caught up on things.

Adventures de France
... spaghetti bolognese, sanduiche de lamb, and as of last night, frog legs. Yup, poor Kermit lent about eight of his besties to my appetizer and it was pretty delicious. I've had them before and they are very chicken-esque, although it's really the sauce that makes the dish. Prior, I was on a cruise, but last night was the real deal. Not too worried about appearance, it was basically just the pale lower halves of skinned frogs in a pond of flavor.

Plane Trip and Layover in Charles de Gaulle
... and 2. It was a little disappointing because Miriam really wanted to try a macaroon like the ones we saw in 2E, but there were none. I had a little bacon, lettuce and tomato wrap, which was ok. The bacon seemed liked it was cured pork instead of the "bacon" that we're accustomed to in the US. That's about it, we boarded a few hours later and had a pretty good flight to Firenze.
