... Also, all but one trail was flooded and even sections of the boardwalk path were under water, from recent floods. We walked as far as we could, looking at old growth hardwood forest and squirrels.

Then set off and arrived at Santee State Park. John spotted turkey vultures nearby. Beautiful wooded campground next to Lake Marion, largest lake in South Carolina, built by damming the Santee River in the 1940s. Warm weather at last. So good to be able to live outdoors ...

There is also some anxiety over the duration of my trip. A week, after all, is a very long time to be away from my family. I've also never been out of the country by myself, at the mercy of the airline schedules, public transport, English language barriers. And ...

    Holiday time!

A travel blog entry by agnetasherborne on Jun 29, 2014

Had the good intention of going to the gym before leaving for our second honey moon alias silver wedding trip but as often is the case time went too fast. Too many small things to organise before literally heading off with packs on backs to catch a bus to Jollimont. Bus from Jollimont to the airport, checking in etc and all went well. Flight on time and we arrived to Denpasar in Bali before 10pm. Then it took for ever to ...
