... slope and an odd series of caves that didn't seem to jive with the rest of their surroundings. It soon became evident that they were a function of a long-running aqueduct that ran many feet above the river itself. We later learned that the aqueduct provided most of the water for the nearby town of Konitsa though since the water was running fast and deep it didn't necessarily seem necessary for there to be an aqueduct at that location.

... the first primitive link between Kapesovo and the village of Vradeto. Built by local stone craftsmen in a traditional style that can be found on many paths in this part of Greece, the Vradeto Stairs are quite well-known and many people travel from around the world to hike here. Thus, we had expected to see at least, you know, one other hiker here but on this day we had it all to ourselves.

All of the decor in the hotel, from lamps, light fixtures, all furniture, art, rugs, ceilings, tapestries, and everything else was a high-quality antique and the overall appeal was enchanting. ... as I can do. I stop in at a souvenir shop with a couple of young guys who are really nice. They insist that I try their fathers home made raki. It is good, I say so and they are pleased. I grab a couple of things and a throw in a couple of small bottles of the good stuff..
