Forgot to tell you yesterday that was racing past a long freight train which always puts a grin on my face...black and white TV, the gang rode their horses alongside the train and jumped on...I guess I still am a 60 something Kid (or in my second childhood already).
... The route follows the river and is very twist not an A to B Interstate highway and it took me a 1/2 day to get used to the slower pace.
Stopping off in Bemindji I was surprised to find Steam Punk style sculptures. I originally went there to shot the Paul Bunyan and Babe statues. I also got a couple of fabulous shots of a bird using telephoto.

... from a farmer's yard, we stopped. We found some fresh steelhead at Costco, (of course, it was enough for several meals.) and bought it for dinner. John cooked it on our little grill and the whole meal was delicious. After dinner, we walked down to Edna Lake at the Nisswa Resort to watch the sunset. It is still warm in the evenings in the Midwest, which makes them quite pleasant.

Last night we stayed at the Porcupine Wilderness State Park in Ontonagon, MI. Had a site right on Lake Superior. Arrived just before it stormed. Lots of people camping in tents and there we were sitting in our motor home nice and dry watching a movie and eating popcorn! Too bad for the rain, we were hoping to see the Northern Lights.
