... It had just snowed again and there was a little dusting of snow on the rocks. I was again the only one there. After a few more moments of peace I got back into CC and started my adventure down the GRR. Not too long after I left the park I saw a flock of five bald eagles diving for fish in the river. They were beautiful. I've never seen them in the wild before. What a great start to the drive. A short drive to Bemidji, MN and it was time to wander around ...
This was almost a 500 mile "Day Trip" but it was a beautiful drive, especially since they had a good snow fall last night!! Plus we needed a distraction today after the kids left!!

Forgot to tell you yesterday that was racing past a long freight train which always puts a grin on my face...black and white TV, the gang rode their horses alongside the train and jumped on...I guess I still am a 60 something Kid (or in my second childhood already).
... The route follows the river and is very twist not an A to B Interstate highway and it took me a 1/2 day to get used to the slower pace.
Stopping off in Bemindji I was surprised to find Steam Punk style sculptures. I originally went there to shot the Paul Bunyan and Babe statues. I also got a couple of fabulous shots of a bird using telephoto.

We began the day touring the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown, ND, which actually was not much of a tour at all. There was a small old frontier town, a few buffalo statues, a gift shop and a small herd of buffalo, which included an albino buffalo. Fortunately, it was free. Nonetheless, I took a photo of John with one of the statues.
We drove on to Minnesota and I began searching the Trailer Life Campground Guide for a RV ...
