It's the infamous meal found in Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans, and the Middle East - meze, described by the guidebook as a non-stop culinary assault, it sounds like the volume of food served at this type of feast is sufficient to cause injuries, and perhaps even death. Calamari tentacles sticking out of your nose, tzatziki oozing out of your ears, choking to death on a big fat sieftalia ... tonight's dinner was fraught with peril, but ...
... Silly me, thinking that the only bad thing about eating a peach off a tree in the Cypriot wild was perhaps ingesting a little bit of dirt ...
Obviously, pesticides are one of the least healthy substances you can put in your body, but I took solace in the fact that I've probably developed a healthy resistance to carcinogens over the years, since growing up in North America means that I ate a lot of McDonald's in my formative ...
... brakes and luckily, were both traveling at slow speeds - I don't think the two cars even touched, though you probably could barely fit a dime between the two bumpers. We sat across from each other and just stared, completely shocked at what had just transpired - and that's when I think we made contact, in an epic Mr Bean move ... in shock, I dropped the clutch without taking the car out of gear, causing it to lurch forward and make contact. Oh, ...
Just a real tourist day, visiting the mosaics in the Houses of Dionysos, Theseus, Aion and Orpheus in Pafos,
then the Royal tombs of Kato Pafos.

The monk smiles and shakes his head. No miracles here.
It is only now, as I walk out of the compound, that I realise why the first church, that stood within the village proper, was so hard to find: most churches don't feature a cross, not on the roofs nor on the fašades.
The villages they're in are quaint, with narrow streets ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa Paphos
have just returned from the aquamare and yes it is new and looks great but the food is very poor more like a 2 star there was only 28 people all british staying and this dwindled to less over two weeks so felt there was no reason to be given poor quality food. Breakfast was buffet style so not to many problems except scrambled eggs sat in wartery liquid and bacon was not topped up so for two days only 4 slices was in container we did not have lunch so cannot comment but o dear the evening meal was awfull the veg was not fresh broccoli came up yellow, the rest was we felt frozen and lacked choice ( the same every night, carrot, parsnip and sweetcorn) only had salad once and that was a side dish, meat was frozen or pre packed so no taste or it came in breadcrumbs, fish was the same as meat, soup ok but not freshly made, puddings ok but felt they where brought in, the pasta sauce was used for everything that needed tomato sauce and it was always the same taste so felt that must have been out of a can and the pasta well italians eat and weep! why o why did they keep running out of wines with so few people. The food tried to look good on the plate but was very small portions and just warm, we talked to the chef about the quality of the food who smiled and said they tried to be international in the cooking ,mmm not sure what he ment by that !spoke to the manager and that seemed to have a result. .We had heard that there had been many complaints about the food and felt sorry for the waiting staff who bore the thin end, hope it will improve because it is a super looking hotel with good intentions just needs to look at the managment staff and how they are not performing
The hotel has a varietd look and feel to it. It is a mixture of practicalness, expensive taste, down to earth but at the same time a touch of class.
Just returned from a fantastic week at the Aquamare and am already looking for deals for a return visit!
Well my experence of The Hotel Aquamare has been nothing short of superb.
A must stay!
I stayed at the Aquamare Hotel in February 2007 and had a fabulous stay. As soon as I walked through the front door I felt a breath of relaxation and cleanliness. It is a great place to relax, staff were more than helpful, rooms were great very comfortable, very relaxing and peaceful hotel, the food was amazing (where else would you get a 3 course meal for 10 cyp) I couldn't believe it and the breakfasts were to die for to.
The hotel also has spa and leisure facilities anything you want is at the Aquamare no need to go down the street. Walk out the front door and you feel the breath of fresh air from the beach.
This hotel I would recommend to anyone and so much so I am going back a month later.
A must stay!
This hotel was good especially as far as decor and food are concerned. Food was fabulous value evening 3/4 course for circa£20.00. Buffet breakfast great.
I had a lovely week at the AquaMare Beach Spa Hotel in Paphos , Cyprus, the hotel is only a short drive from the centre of town and the international airport, it is backed by beachfront and faces a large open field/agricultural area to the front. I found the staff were friendly and helpful.
I have just returned again to stay in this wonderful new hotel in Paphos. Having stayed in numerous hotels in Paphos over the last 4 years I had no hesitation but to book to stay again. The hotel is set in the most wonderful position on the beach at what is truly the better end of Paphos for sea, sunbathing, beach and views. Its quiet location guarantees peace and tranquility which one would expect and desire for a 4 star Spa Hotel. The decor is a mix of modern and traditional which are perfectly designed for each area of the building. The emphasise is on comfort and relaxion and creating an enviroment for all age groups and tastes. In fact this has been achieved in the interior design with fabulous colors and fabrics.
Stayed at the Aquamare in October 2006 we chose this hotel as we had watched it being built on previous visits to Paphos - our family has been holidaying in Paphos for 20 years. It was my 50th birthday my sister's silver wedding and another sister's 1st wedding anniversary (she married in Paphos in oct 2005).
