... Paphos... And saw where Aphrodite's rock is situated... We will go back and look at that properly later. We drove straight to Kriton's Dad's apartment for a light meal of fresh cut fruit, bread, olives, haloumi, and the most amazing feta cheese I've ever tasted! What a way to be introduced to Cypriot cuisine .... Delicious! Feta and sliced watermelon is a marriage made ...
... notice in the Mediterranean! Paphos is a quiet, almost sleepy seaside town with a population of friendly folk. The port is dotted with lovely white and blue little fishing boats and has a siesta in the middle of the day...what's not to appreciate about this town? After attending to a lovely lunch of Cypriot food, fish stuffed with spinach on a bed of potatoes with a crust of spices, and peas with lamb and spices plus the obligatory salad of fresh flavours of lettuce, cucumber, ...
... heritage site. I wonder how many feet have passes over these steps and why, what were they carrying, where were they going? I was quickly shaken from this wondering as I look ahead of me to see a line of donkeys trotting down the steps, so sure footed and not missing a single step and they are sans rider or leader. It is clear they have made this journey multiple time before and are on auto pilot heading home having deposited the rider at the top ...
... a man was sat in the shade with two donkeys, so we had our photos taking sitting on them! We drove back along the coast and found a beach where we relaxed and watched James snorkel for a while. Surprisingly there was only one other family on the beach, and they happened to be my mum's work colleague and family! It is such a small world! We ate tasty ice creams and chatted with them. When we got back to the villa we had another swim in the pool and had a BBQ for tea. In the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Aquamare Beach Hotel & Spa Paphos
have just returned from the aquamare and yes it is new and looks great but the food is very poor more like a 2 star there was only 28 people all british staying and this dwindled to less over two weeks so felt there was no reason to be given poor quality food. Breakfast was buffet style so not to many problems except scrambled eggs sat in wartery liquid and bacon was not topped up so for two days only 4 slices was in container we did not have lunch so cannot comment but o dear the evening meal was awfull the veg was not fresh broccoli came up yellow, the rest was we felt frozen and lacked choice ( the same every night, carrot, parsnip and sweetcorn) only had salad once and that was a side dish, meat was frozen or pre packed so no taste or it came in breadcrumbs, fish was the same as meat, soup ok but not freshly made, puddings ok but felt they where brought in, the pasta sauce was used for everything that needed tomato sauce and it was always the same taste so felt that must have been out of a can and the pasta well italians eat and weep! why o why did they keep running out of wines with so few people. The food tried to look good on the plate but was very small portions and just warm, we talked to the chef about the quality of the food who smiled and said they tried to be international in the cooking ,mmm not sure what he ment by that !spoke to the manager and that seemed to have a result. .We had heard that there had been many complaints about the food and felt sorry for the waiting staff who bore the thin end, hope it will improve because it is a super looking hotel with good intentions just needs to look at the managment staff and how they are not performing
The hotel has a varietd look and feel to it. It is a mixture of practicalness, expensive taste, down to earth but at the same time a touch of class.
Just returned from a fantastic week at the Aquamare and am already looking for deals for a return visit!
Well my experence of The Hotel Aquamare has been nothing short of superb.
A must stay!
I stayed at the Aquamare Hotel in February 2007 and had a fabulous stay. As soon as I walked through the front door I felt a breath of relaxation and cleanliness. It is a great place to relax, staff were more than helpful, rooms were great very comfortable, very relaxing and peaceful hotel, the food was amazing (where else would you get a 3 course meal for 10 cyp) I couldn't believe it and the breakfasts were to die for to.
The hotel also has spa and leisure facilities anything you want is at the Aquamare no need to go down the street. Walk out the front door and you feel the breath of fresh air from the beach.
This hotel I would recommend to anyone and so much so I am going back a month later.
A must stay!
This hotel was good especially as far as decor and food are concerned. Food was fabulous value evening 3/4 course for circa£20.00. Buffet breakfast great.
I had a lovely week at the AquaMare Beach Spa Hotel in Paphos , Cyprus, the hotel is only a short drive from the centre of town and the international airport, it is backed by beachfront and faces a large open field/agricultural area to the front. I found the staff were friendly and helpful.
I have just returned again to stay in this wonderful new hotel in Paphos. Having stayed in numerous hotels in Paphos over the last 4 years I had no hesitation but to book to stay again. The hotel is set in the most wonderful position on the beach at what is truly the better end of Paphos for sea, sunbathing, beach and views. Its quiet location guarantees peace and tranquility which one would expect and desire for a 4 star Spa Hotel. The decor is a mix of modern and traditional which are perfectly designed for each area of the building. The emphasise is on comfort and relaxion and creating an enviroment for all age groups and tastes. In fact this has been achieved in the interior design with fabulous colors and fabrics.
Stayed at the Aquamare in October 2006 we chose this hotel as we had watched it being built on previous visits to Paphos - our family has been holidaying in Paphos for 20 years. It was my 50th birthday my sister's silver wedding and another sister's 1st wedding anniversary (she married in Paphos in oct 2005).
