... the rail beside the staircase was problematic in that it was, literally freezing. Had worn coats and boots but never thought about gloves. Big mistake. At least we weren't the only ones.

Well, thats probably not quite fair, as the description of the locally made wurst was definitely appealing, and I was happy to share his plate. Good choice.

This time, we couldn't use the little train (Hoehenbahn - Schmalspurbahn) directly to the restaurant because the heavy rain undermined two weeks ago the tracks. A temporary path was built and plastic planes covered this area (see pictures).

It leads ot the Kölnbrein dam wall, which, at a height of 200m, a lenght of 626m, and a width of up to 41m, is the highest dam wall in Austria, storing the waters of the Kölnbrein reservoir, whose deep blue surface, set against the backdrop of the Hohe Tauern mountains and their glaciers, makes a truly memorable impression.
