Riding the Tranzcoastal & Interislander

A very early start this morning: 5:30 wake up call to be at the train station by 6:30 for a 7:00 departure on the Tranzcoastal train from Christchurch to Picton (about 5 hrs). I was looking forward to this trip for a number of reasons:
1. We would get to see this part of New Zealand
2. I didn't need to drive
3. The beautiful scenery

Blue duck farm
... good fun stood up in the cars until you forgot to duck under the trees!! We took a little kayak ride in the river and saw a demonstration of how the dogs round up the sheep/cattle. The really nice thing about the visit is that because it was a working farm you'd get sidetracked from time to time whilst they did their proper job such as returning lambs to their mothers ...

Paragliding road trip

Milford Sound to Picton
... start and the sight of Mount Cook and friends across Lake Tekapo slowed our progress, in a good way. This lake shares the same 'unbelievablue' colour as its neighbour, which looks stunning against the snow white peaks.
