... up staying in Vilanculos as well.

Didn't really see much of the place, in truth. The weather (sunny and very very hot in Tofo) had become cloudy and grey here, though still pretty hot. I did think about sticking around and trying to visit the Bazaruto Islands, but the weather and the offer of a further lift tomorrow persuaded me, so this was just an overnight stop.

... Southern Sun Maharani Hotel on the beach front before we head out early morning. The lobby of the hotel is decorated for Christmas with a beautiful tree, oh yeh, it's almost Christmas! Not quite the same when you have been on a beach in the sun for a week! Room service and a glass of wine bring the day to a close, but not before face-timing with my mum... A VERY HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY MUM! Miss you! ...

(Mamma Prytz and Mother Howell, the fact I am writing this now, the day after, means I did get my husband back alive, so you can all relax!). By 07:30 we are on our way, with the aim to be in the water for the first dive at 09:00. As we head out to sea, I understand why the ...

... a backward somersault, and begin to descend. Clarity today is much better, about 15m, the swells underwater are a lot less to. I feel much more controlled on this dive, my breathing is better and I relax as the swells move me back and forth, my mask fogging was the only issue. We went down to 21m today, my deepest yet! The coral at 5-mile is very different to 2-mile, more spaced out with sand flats in between. ...

... the end I'll be a pro! The afternoon was spent relaxing by the villa and exploring the lodge. Azura is an eco-boutique lodge built entirely by hand in partnership with the local community, there are just 16 spacious ‘beach chic’ designer villas, each with a private infinity pool, located a few steps from the pristine white sand beach, and designed with seclusion in mind. An unspoilt island within a Marine National Park, miles of ...
