... an awesome video of a masked weaver bird building his nest. We recorded it on time lapse and then sped it up afterwards. This means that we can watch 4 hours worth of nest building condensed into 39 seconds and the nest being built from start to finish in record time.

We lit the bbq again and had huge rump steaks on the bbq before a relatively early night ahead of our last full day of Safari tomorrow.

Until then

... disappointed when we don't see the animals that we want to see.
At the end of the day we have only seen a couple of elephants, some warthogs, wildebeest, a couple of hippos in the water, one giraffe, elands, and two turtles. But no lions today.
Tomorrow is another day, after all the book said there should at least be 6000 animals in this park. We'll see them all tomorrow!!!!

... sanctuary which is a rescue place for orphaned and pet monkeys whose owners no longer want them (after they grow up and aren’t cute anymore). The countryside is pretty and not far out of Joburg it turns into sparse land with one of the mountain ranges in the background and a big dam. You see the odd squatter camp every now and then, and lots of roadside stalls – selling fruit, barbequed corn. One thing that I also remember from our last trip here was the number of black ...

Safari in Pilanesberg

... national park to the west of Johannesburg. We have booked with a company and a guide will take us there in their safari vehicle, just the three of us :) The park is an area which used to be a huge volcano, but this collapsed in on itself to form a ring on mountains around the outside. The area is very alkaline from the previous volcanic activity.
