    ... unique sculptures. One, entitled the Nebraskan Gateway Sculpture, was constructed for the U.S. bicentennial celebration out of Vermont granite. The granite was to signify a gateway into the Nebraskan spirit. In a second rest stop was the Up/Over sculpture, an arch constructed of aluminum, designed to take you eye from the ground to the sky and back.

    ... know the entire life of the Pony Express was only 18 months total? That's when the telegram took over ... the "help wanted" poster is included in my photos. A very cool place to stop and learn about the Oregon Trail, the Mormon emigration to Utah and life of the settlers.
