... into it and they hitch us up and pull us up to level ground. John backs up the "paddy wagon" that we ride in and we arrive back a camp around 5 PM. I am tuckered out from cranking and fighting the waves but happy to have some halibut. They will filet them as part of the charter fee but charge $1.25/lb for vacuum packing and freezing them which is what I have them do after picking out a nice steak for dinner tonight!

... this time, Cole had fallen in as well and was soaked and cold and covered in mud. So when mama and twins headed off for the forest we headed back to the plane and Homer. It was much clearer when we returned and excited we headed back to the spit to explore more. Of course, once we got there the skies opened up. We walked around a bit and then decided to leave Homer. ... one till the campground starts to fill up. Then we have to pay for both. Think we can do that, its only $10 a night for one space. No hookups. Everyone keeps telling us the fish are coming but the commerical boats that are netting are taking most of the fish. But the Kasilof is a nice river to fish. Will be here till Monday then we move to Centennial Park in Soldotna. This morning Bill and I both caught a steelhead. It's catch and release on those. ...
