... HUGE lenses and their cameras on tripods. This one guy, whose lens was 5 times the size of mine said, "Dammit, I knew I should have brought my big lens." Watching these 5 bears was like watching a soap opera. The mom with the yearling was totally interested in clamming and eating. Her "boy" was totally interested in the young cubs. He kept coming closer until the mother of the twins charged him (meanwhile she brought her cubs super close to the humans). ...

... one till the campground starts to fill up. Then we have to pay for both. Think we can do that, its only $10 a night for one space. No hookups. Everyone keeps telling us the fish are coming but the commerical boats that are netting are taking most of the fish. But the Kasilof is a nice river to fish. Will be here till Monday then we move to Centennial Park in Soldotna. This morning Bill and I both caught a steelhead. It's catch and release on those. ...

... and the guy replied that he was getting top $ for them now, $3.50 per lb. Greg said he would be happy to pay that since what is fresh salmon in the store, over $15.00 per lb.

Greg has decided that they need to rename "Clam Gulch" since he did not get one clam today. If we would have had an ATV we may have had better luck as you could go up the beach for a couple of miles were they are not all harvested ...

We were picked up at the motel this morning at 3:30. That's's not a typo. since it was already getting light and because that was 7:30 Eastern time, I could almost justify the hour... Almost.
