Switzerland and Venice

... and makes some purchases which allow us to devour in local strudel like pastries. I was off to happy land at that very moment. As we head across the Swiss-Italian border, we notice sniffer dogs and at least five guards search a van. Out steps a seedy looking man and they raid his van. Today we decided to catch the train into Venice so we bought some tickets at the hotel after eating a yummy breakfast. The trains go to Venice every 5-10 minutes. The train we caught was a double decker train with really comfortable seats and it was very quiet.

This festival celebrates the official finish of a plague/virus that was killing thousands of people in Venice in the 1540's. Every year they celebrate "the life". All congregating in an armada of pleasure boats in the Laguna in front ...
