Probably one of the best camping places I've stayed at. Very pretty, good amenities, lots of interesting birds and beautiful gardens. Would be great if they turned down the powerful camp lights at night though, is it really necessary to have them on full beam ALL night?

The office staff helpful, and welcoming, and obliging.
Sites were clean and tidy, grassy, with concrete pad.
Birds every where, they feed them at 4 pm. Nice stay.

Stayed in a camp-o-tel for 2 weeks. Was a fun experience. There were Geckos going around it.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. They helped us out with out bags when we went on a 2 day trip.

          Toilets/bathrooms were really clean.

Kitchen area was good with a free bbq and fridges to use. We were allowed to borrow some cutlery, plates and a pan for our stay.

Didn't want to use the dish cloths as some people think it's ok to use the to wipe tables and benches... But had no choice

Everything was cleaned everyday and the place was excellent. Free wifi was good, though had to find a good spot for it sometimes.

Really really affordable. Stayed in the teepees for $35 per night - can't argue with that.

A beautiful large site, (which we could choose ourselves) it is very well located, walking distance to town and a pub across the road! One block of amenities has been upgraded, but the other block is certainly in need of upgrading. However, staff in the office were very helpful and we had a very good stay here. Would recommend it.

We have enjoyed a couple of lovely days relaxing here, soaking up the sun and wandering around the marinas. Catching up on washing, clothes and car and caravan and restocking the fridge. We stayed at the island Gateway Holiday Park and it's a lovely spot within walking distance of town. Philip went down to wash the car at the wash bay in the park …

Love this place: very tropical and teaming with exotic bird life! Have to be careful with mosquitos repellent though - DET, nets/ screens at night and the right clothing.

Once we were up and organised it was time to leave for Airlie Beach. We headed straight down there, only stopping for 20 minutes for lunch and still just about had time to find a campsite before booking in for our sailing trip.

From Cape Hillsborough we ventured another 150kms up the highway thru Proserpine to Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. We initially booked a site for 3 nights but ended up staying for 10

You can see the type of road it is from one of today's pics and although the traffic has been good so far we may not be so lucky over the bank hol weekend. The route today picked up on more sugar cane plantations. They believe that almost 90% of the crop has been destroyed in the cyclone. From what I can see, that's ...
