Car hire for 3 days over
... of a vineyard area.......so much more to this story but not enough room. Drove back inland today, small winding roads into tiny towns, no one else on the road thank goodness, went through forest areas, olive tree areas, more walled towns, forts, vineyards. Saw landslide affected area from floods of 5 days ago, roads closed. Ended up at orvieto, dropped car off heading towards amalfi coast tomorrow. Oh no iPad s full so can,t upload any photos. ...
Leaving Assisi
... I want to come back here! One of the striking things about Assisi is how clean it is. People here take a pride in the way their city looks. Very few dog poos on the footpath, unlike Paris. As well as their buildings they take pride in their food. We have never come across so many restaurants and cafes and pasterias. And the cakes! We had to exercise a great deal of restraint not to pig out every day, ...
The Land of Chocolate

The festival itself was small so my friends and I explored the corridors of the city for a couple hours.

Day Six - Orvieto
... quite a laugh over dinner. One of them had a real soft spot for Mauro the driver, so we were laughing at hor mooning at him over her dinner! At every hotel we have stayed at, each time the food gets better and bigger. At this hotel we had soup, then pasta, then the main course and if you had room, some lovely desserts!
After a great feed we headed upstairs for a good night's sleep - we have a long day tomorrow - in Rome!
