... town - Lordsburg. We learned that there was a big sandstorm just a few miles ahead. There were hundreds of cars waiting on the side of the road waiting for the highway to reopen. We decided to use the time wisely and explore the little godforsaken town we happened to be in. Today Went Downhill--Literally !

... site without issue. Once that was resolved, we headed back into town to find this Mexican plaza and famous restaurant. I had been getting ready for some good Mexican food since this morning and Karen was ready to shop. Little did we know that neither one of us was going to return to the KOA happy about the remainder of the evening.



We got excellent directions from the KOA and had no problems finding a parking spot at the Mesilla ...

... but I got by by using the glance and go method. We reached Hatch, which is actually a town. Nutt, as it stands was naught but one building and a few highway signs.

In Hatch, we took the scenic route, Hwy 85, and eventually crossed the Rio Grande River. It's rather brown down her during the winter, but along the river one could see where when it greens-up it must be beautiful. We eventually found the Campground, having listened to the Droid GPS ...

... not fancy but it's a good park to stay in.

Today, Nov. 22, we are in Palm Springs at our Thousand Trails Membership Park. We have never stayed here before but have been talking about coming back here in the future.

Tomorrow, we are going to Jan and Dave's in Loma Linda and spend the night before we go to Lake Isabella on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving ...
