... the age of 33 months at the latest, and then they become well-known beef brands such as Kobe beef and Matusaka beef. The newborn calves I saw were beautiful with fine and shiny black hair, and they already had an air of dignity about them fitting of Tajima cattle.
Incidentally, Kobe beef has never been exported from Japan, but apparently this may change in the future. I hope those who live outside Japan will get to taste delicious Kobe beef for themselves sometime soon.
... this computer. So far we did a bus tour of the main attractions in the city. Now we are looking for a place for fCub to have some Kobe beef. Tomorrow we will probably go to one of the famous shopping areas in Kobe. More to follow tomorrow. Sayonnara, Cubnelaine
Kobe, Kinki, Japan cubnelaine... So many interesting shops and buildings. The first thing we did was went up in the Kobe Harbour Tower to get another view of the harbour area. We then set out to find Kobe Harbour Earthquake Memorial, which I found to be very disturbing / fascinating. They actually kept a piece of the harbour area that had been destroyed during the earthquake and preserved it as a memorial. Around the memorial are numerous plaques and kiosks ...

Kobe, Hyogo, Japan at777... to the OLYMPICS IN CHINA!! I know it's far away, and some of you are probably thinking, wow Kate is a huge dork for planning so far in advance. But believe me, you have to!! Ticket reservations are until mid-July and tickets to popular events like gymnastics are going quickly. I grew up watching the Olympics and ever since I was a little kids I've always wanted to go. So what better time than August 2008 because I'm only a 3 hour flight away from Beijing. I will be attending 2 ...
Shirahama, Minabe, Susami, Kyoto, Kobe, Japan kateinjapanWow, am I actually becoming... Organised? It's only just the beginning of December and I have already pretty much finished my Christmas shopping. Today was spent in Umeda buying a few last bits and pieces. Osaka, Japan andyh79x... not only embraced the Western toilet, but have decided to improve upon it. While in the bathroom of a particularly fancy department store, this reporter had the opportunity to take a seat on what appeared to be Captain Kirk's personal *******. It looked like a regular toilet, save for a white control arm on the right side that had a bunch of buttons labeled in both English and Japanese. Exciting! I resist the urge to push one and say, "Stardate 20-Oh-Six. Captain's Log ...
Osaka, Japan tabonyhl... to festival gate which looked good from the outside, its a kind of shopping centre with a roller coaster around it. However it was really dead and very little was open except Mos Burger. So we had a burger and it was tasty as, much better than McDonalds.. Also saw the Tsutenkaku tower (Hitachi), but it was expensive and didnt look very high so we laughed it off. Rat boy went downstairs and has bought a can of beer from a vending machine and a pack of rice crackers ...
Osaka, Japan mothman... yet more great adventures. When we arrived in Kyoto, our first challenge was to find our hotel, in a neighborhood where small streets only have japonese characters (and we only wrote down the romanized spellings of the street names). We made our way to the general vacinity of the guest house, found a convenience store, and struggled with our lack of Japonese and their lack of english to get directions. They ended up calling the number that was in our revervation ...
Kyoto, Japan gojoadventures... of clothing... that would be freaky, a toilet that undresses you and then watches you take a wizz. That'll probably be on the market next year... vi) Ticket conductors on trains bow when entering and leaving every single carriage. I think UK conductors go as far as kicking your bag out of the way and telling you to shut the hell up! vii) Every household has a pair of slippers in the toilet. I guess some men aren't that good at aiming straight and they don't want ...
