This is our first layover for a few days.  We are hoping to spend a day touring and then a day to tour and enjoy lunch with our friend Yuko. The house that we are staying at is incredibly beautiful. We are up the side of a cliff with lots of stairs and very steep small road up so no worries about getting exercise. The sun ...

Turns out this area was the epicentre for the earthquake that caused the incident at Fukushima four years ago, and consequently Matsushima-Kaigan was hit very hard by the tsunami that followed said earthquake.

We left the Onsen in the morning and went back to Kakunodate to visit the Samurai houses. At the station you can always leave the baggage in coin lockers, so we could make the walk through the town in a more relaxed way.

Unfortunately it was pouring rain that we became wet - even with the umbrellas and were happy to get inside these samurai houses. They are very big, some of them even free of charge to visit

        Closing shows in Sendai

A travel blog entry by jacob.marsh3 on Jul 13, 2014

Had our las two shows of Sendai today, the audience was great in both of them, maintaining the energy towards the pre show that all of the previous shows had. Tonight, Lennea, Chris, Brittany and myself went for dinner and to buy some last minute supplies for our trip to Mount Fuji tomorrow ...
