Went to bunny Island aka Okunishima poison gas facility. A very interesting place, the rabbits came about as they are the survivors after the release of the poison gas after the war. They are ridiculously tame and actually run towards you begging for food. David bought us some bags of bunny food and we have a great time feeding the little critters, well we did, Scott wouldn't. On the walk around we had a look at the poison gas museum. Wow ...

... spectacular views of the hillside, river and huge boulders below...think Puffing Billy on steroids! An awesome experience! As dusk fell we headed to a quaint riverside town to witness cormorant fishing. Birds on leashes, diving for fish from ancient looking boats. The fishermen keep the large fish while the birds get the rest. Sake on the banks of the river, in the rain, with paper lanterns swaying in the breeze completed our day. This was the longest. Home after ...

Onomichi to Imabari 70km Cycling

A travel blog entry by canadiansmiley on Oct 27, 2013

... bike paths are clear. I passed through 8 Islands and 7 bridges. Each bridge is designed very unique and different from the other one. I landed at the Sunrise Itoyama bicycle terminal for the night for 4200¥ per night. The bath is quite an experience in the form of the Japanese ...
