... really early here - 4:30 a.m. and goes down at 6:30 p.m. They do not do daylight savings time here. The sun is very bright and beautiful. Haven't gone to a Starbucks or McDonalds yet even though I saw 2 of them. The weather here in Sendai area has been sunny, warm at plus 22 - 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity has been 65 - 85 ...

... like a mental patient in an institute for the criminally insane. Well, you wouldn’t be treated that way, but you would, for instance, receive one of those intravenous drips but instead of saline you could sip your drink. We arrived there and were greeted by grimy looking walls painted with the semblance of bloodstains and the like. This seemed like a fun place to have our meal at, but unfortunately they were closing soon, as it was already 22:45.

... train ride away, and we are getting good with the ticket machines and mazes, and we're in a charming seaside town on a bay with 265 small islands. They're soft ochre rock that has been carved into undulating shapes by the waves. On the flat tops are pine trees. It's all very picturesque and Japanese looking. ... Bay where we could almost not find our hotel, but it was beautifully located on a small hill overlooking the Matsushima bay with the small islands.

We immediately were exploring the island that was accessible by the bridge and to capture some of the pictures when the sun was setting.

The hotel and onsen were really nice and the meal was excellent. All variety of sea food nicely prepared overlooking the bay -- just nice
