Had just what we needed for a one night stay. Beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was a little small. It was the cheapest place in Zurich so it was worth the value

    A rainy day in Zurich

Tom and Dana landed in Zurich, Switzerland early morning on Sunday 6/21. Never leaving the ZUH airport, we made our way to the train station to catch the train to Lucerne (or Luzern, here in Switzerland!). Luzern is a hour train ride from Zurich, through low mountains and past several lakes. By 11am, Tom and Dana were in Luzern. Few pictures of Zurich were made as the day was rainy and grey. But Luzern offered great views.

After a solid 8 months of living in Spain, this trip to Switzerland was like a trip to the moon, a very lush moon with fondue, and no graffiti. It was a striking contrast to Spain. So we asked Buddy and Natasha to explain how Switzerland works..

Don't know if I'd use them anywhere else though - not certain they'd be as efficient/clean as the Swiss ones. We don't think anyone went near our room during the day at Geneva, but here in Zurich they've emptied our bin every day, and washed the handbasin (moving our soap in the process). And one day we came back to ...

... in some snowy fun in the middle of summer. While the conditions weren’t quite snowboarding-worthy, we had a great time riding sleds and snow-scooters down a small snow bank located at the top of Mount Titlis. With that said and done, I can now say I’ve ridden the Alps! Hopefully next time will be on my snowboard instead of a small child’s toy…

Following a few trips down the slope, Sean and I had enough snow in ...

... Springrolls in Toronto (http://springrolls.ca/) is nearly three times as pricey. Gasp!

And when I was joking on my facebook status that Swiss are like Germans on steroids, I don’t think I was that far off. But who am I to try have an opinion after barely a couple of days?! That’d be silly really.

Next (and last) stop, back in Germany: ...
