Had just what we needed for a one night stay. Beds were comfortable, but the bathroom was a little small. It was the cheapest place in Zurich so it was worth the value

So what is left about Zürich to leave an impression?

Well, the ways in which the Swiss can quickly empty your wallet certainly gains notice quickly.

Zürich has to be one of the most expensive places I have ever visited. Simple fare at hole-in-the-wall eateries can cost upwards of 30 Swiss francs, which ...

My trip to Zurich was via the Golden Panorama train which has great views through some mountain ranges and past gorgeous lake. On my way I decided to stop in Luzern(Lucerne) for a few hours to check out the city. It of course is situated on a lake and has a preserved medieval town. Two of the main sites are the medieval covered bridges built in the 14th century. Unfortunately one caught fire and the roof had to be reconstructed as well as the paintings beneath it. ...

... completely different architecture. We ate dinner and walked around for a few hours. We got a pretty good feel for the city. Every street was cooler looking than the last. There were a ton of churches with really neat designs on them. There was a new huge church every two blocks or so. The city was split by a river, which looked great at night. This was more of a relaxing and shopping type of older city. ...

... sleep when you get home! One thing I cannot plan for is the weather, however. Before leaving, the forecast looked pretty dismal: sunny for the few days before our trip, rain for the 5 we would be there, and sunny for all the days after. It couldn't have looked worse. I can only hope the weathermen are wrong...which is highly possible. So armed with my Swiss Pass (rail pass), passport, and some Swiss Francs, (and reluctantly, my umbrella) I'm ready to explore the land of the ...
