... remember the Cesky Krumlov photos. When we were her 20 years ago, NO ONE around the square spoke ONE word of English. Now it's a real tourist destination.

Castle tour tomorrow and graphite mine tour on Friday. Rain expected both days for both days.

... for books in German, Latin, Spanish, Italian, and French. A case held books dating back to the 1600's. The Chapter Huose was a beautiful room with fabulous acoustics, now used for concerts and weddings. The cloisters were especially lovely, with renaissance decoration. And then there was the church. ... us that when Austrians travel abroad they always get mistaken for Australians, he didn't get my joke about our thongs being Japanese safety boots and so we parted company and boarded the train for the Czech Republic.

We arrived around 2pm and walked the 15 minutes from the train station to the apartment where we got the key and were met with the best accommodation we've had on the trip thus far. It is also one of the cheapest so certainly an added bonus.

... arrived everyone was knackered from Prague so we slept most of the day away before going on a short hike (!!) to the supermarket and making a home-cooked meal with lots of veggies.

Next day was the rafting pub crawl. Sixteen of us (australians, few kiwis, and a canadian) jumped in these inflatable rafts and floated down the river for 7 hours, pulling in to riverside stops for sausages and beer. It's a bit early in ...
