... But did you know NASCAR's cannot be run on a wet track surface. So after waiting patiently for the majority of the day, watching the rain get heavier and then lighter, we were a but guttered to hear that racing has be postponed until Sunday.

We unfortunately had a plane to catch to Dallas, Texas, no NASCAR racing for us :(
Oh well, got the t-shirt and the cap and a reason to come back! ...

Our flight landed EARLY! in Charlotte at 3:22. We're still flabbergasted that our flight had so few people. We counted only 60 passengers at the baggage pickup area. We're surprised but relieved that it wasn't cancelled. On the downside it took 35 minutes for our baggage to appear in area baggage area after we deplaned. That's longer than our upcoming flight from ...

... but we imagine not as easy to get in and out of the car! It was great to have a walk around and understand more about NASCAR. We are now going to look out for a race to watch on TV.

Richard Childress owns a winery a few miles down the road, so we went there for lunch. We had not considered the fact North Carolina produced wine but were so close thought why not. We had a lovely window table overlooking the vines as the ...
