    Early start -630. Woken up by the cat as always, but she came and snuggled me so not too bad. Drove down to Mount Rainier, a volcano located in East Washington. Nice steady drive there, stopping off for essential coffee en route! The drive was amazing, nice big windy roads you can cruise around on with the windows down and the radio blaring. Got most of the way up on the Sunrise Trail. The highest point by car is 6500ft. Which meant ears popped ...

    ....I did some walking around and despite the sewer smells, trashy streets - this is a very enterprising tourist town. It obviously works and is agreeable to the people who live here - as their many busy shops indicate. I am judging their standard of living against other parts of the world and that doesn't work.
