Our room was clean and well equipped with a kitchen etc. Right beside the lagoon, it was perfect for the two girls. The small town of Aiirlie is perfect for what we wanted and well positioned for taking the Barrier Reef tours.

... anxious heading into the water. We had time to go on 2 dives before transferring to the overnight boat, but the reef was fairly underwhelming up until that point. It sounds ridiculous to say, but after equating the Great Barrier Reef to the most colorful and vibrant place Id ever dive, I was bound to be disappointed. ... walked up Mt Nutt to the lookout, breathtaking, and we saw an sea eagle catch a fish to feed her young nesting on top of the communication tower !!! We drove to cafe 360 to enjoy the views then down to the harbour to buy fresh fish for dinner. We had a day of rain so we found a beautiful old Art Deco cinema and watched the latest Tom Cruise movie, and stopped in the local for a beer on the way home. Next day beautiful so we head off to the local market to stock up ...
... The walk along the boardwalk into town is approx. 2 1/2klm and it is a beautiful view along the way looking out at the crystal clear water of the Whitsundays. There is a heap of young tourist here, backpacker all ready to party and have a good time.
We booked a tour and went to Whitehaven beach with it's pure white sand and crystal clear water. A few sea planes have landed further up the beach and yachts have moored in the water close to shore. We have hopped off ...
