      ... there are giant Redwoods and Oak trees that were petrified. These trees were up to 3 million years old. The forest looked very similar to the one near Elisa's parents place in Sant Quirze. This was today's geology lesson for Elena and Ariana.

      Tomorrow we will have a tasting of Steve's wine, which we are really looking forward to.

      ... is America's breadbasket producing 50% of their food. Being towards the end of summer it's hot, dry and sometimes dusty. We also drove through very pretty country with forests of oak and pine. Needless to say, the roads are fantastic. I am surprised at how cheap the food is with a good $10 meal easily found. The American people, as I expected, are extremely friendly, courteous and kind.
