      Arrived safely after a great flight from Australia. Traveled business class with Singapore and get 10/10 for service and great food. Transferred to Lufthansa and again good service but beds not as comfortable. First day just wandered around Manchester and got our bearings. Busy place and very industrial.       ... to decide if they want to remain part of the UK or become totally independent. This is huge. This is history-making. We have to get up early tomorrow to get to the airport, but I've set the alarm even earlier so I can watch the returns which should be coming in by 5:00 AM.

      These last two weeks have passed way too fast. We have enjoyed it so much. The best parts were Barbara's birthday party and spending time with Paul's family. We will miss them.
