I've spent a lot of time in what has been referred to as "up north" in Ontario. I always chuckle at that moniker since our cottage "up north" is at latitude 46, and Vancouver is at latitude 49 and Winnipeg is at 50, both further from the equator than our cottage. Toronto is at 43 degrees. So now you know the term refers to it's location relative to the centre of the universe. :-) Sorry Torontonians. :-) Couldn't ...

... thankfully had sunlight the whole day. I will mainly be following highway 17 to get to Ottawa, but if the rest of the road is like today I will likely need to find an alternate route. Very little shoulder and consistent traffic made for a day of rather chaotic riding. I got photos of a recommended bike route for most of the way and will consider following it tomorrow. My warmshowers host for the evening initially was not able to host me due to him and his wife being out ...

Had a delicious dinner before a walk around the beach trail, watching the birds & looking at wildflowers.
Tomorrow I cross back to the US at Sault Ste. Marie. A big bridge with vistas of water & islands all around.
