        De Tour Village - Day 2

        ... Labor Day they were all pretty much closed up. The marina is large with brand new docks and almost totally deserted. We are one of only two boats that are passing through. The other 8 or 9 boats are locals. That's why we like to cruise in the off seasons. No reservations necessary. We'll see if that is true at Mackinaw where we're headed tomorrow.

        ... to find a trail to hike, but the several paths we found didn't really go anywhere. The weather report was calling for thunderstorms in the night so we decided De Tour Marina might be a better place to be. It was only an hour away so we picked up the anchor after a delightful afternoon and docked for the night at the village marina. .

        Sault Ste. Marie to Lime Island was about a 5 hour run down the St. Mary's River. The St. Mary’s River is basically a series of lakes connected by channels. Being a ways from shore makes it not quite as scenic as one might think. But it was a nice day and a pleasant trip downriver.
