... food was plentiful. Supper break was taken in Bruce Mines, ON a sleepy little Lake Huron shore town with a great waterfront and marina. The best looking mom and pop restaurant was "bobbers" and it did not disappoint. Great pie! I had a long but pleasant ride around Lake Superior on Friday. I did not get a lot of pictures of the lake as there was no shoulder or few pull offs where the view was really spectacular. My warmshowers host for the evening initially was not able to host me due to him and his wife being out ...

Stayed here on a previous trip. It is a biker friendly stop in a beautiful location, with a good restaurant. What's not to love?
I was just unpacking when the owner phoned to ask if I'd let her take my photo for her motel blog. She gets lots of male bikers but not females, let alone a solo female.
    Of course, I agreed & had ...

Day of Driving with Some Swimming Required

A travel blog entry by craig.d.work on Aug 21, 2011

... this was not what we wanted to do, though we were getting hungry. Seconds later we were back on the highway and heading into yet another large black cloud, only this one came with a light show!

After driving through two large storm clouds and a deluge of rain from both (hence the swimming!) we made it through to Thessalon, a small town outside of Sault Ste. ...
