This has been a wind down day with general relaxing and exchanging addresses. At the 0745 wake up call it was already 25 degrees so the days are definitely getting warmer. It is now time to pack away the cold weather clothes and brace for high temperatures. One particular presentation today was really inspiring. Heading south we spent a night in Mar del Plata, another large city on the coast. Nothing special about the town except it is the second largest beach town in the country and does indeed have a very wide beach that was crowded even as the sun was setting. It's surrounded by very flat, very fertile farmland. What strikes me most is how little we know about this country. Seems like people either live in huge cities or in very isolated, tiny villages.

We headed south to Mar del Plata, which we heard was the Surfers Paradise of Argentina. Well.... this beach is so comically crowded you are nearly touching the shoulder of the person next to you! Made for some interesting days, trying to speak broken Spanish to the families set up so close to ...

At least in Chile people usually stop at zebra crossings,
where in Argentina they are allowed to fade to nothing and you cannot rely on
anyone to stop, even in a slow moving queue of cars. Conversely, every tiny
town in Argentina has a big bright shiny freshly painted casino!
