We made it. This place is pretty cool. We only did about a third of what's here and we will have to come back. This gorge has been created over hundreds of years of erosion and is really worth the time. Need to plan for a full to 3/4 day to take all this in.

We woke this morning to a beautiful 58 degree, sunny day and were heading out to Watkins Glen State Park by 7:30. It was a nice 2 mile hike around the gorge. Very few people on the trail that early so it was a nice time to photograph the rock formations, streams, and ...

This park is a huge gorge where big ancient rivers ...

... boats of some type still navigate the waterway. We saw lots of recreational boats, but nothing commercial.

We continued on back to camp and are preparing to pack up and head out again tomorrow. The plan is to go east to Utica, NY, the gateway to Adirondack Park. We have reservations to ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad on Sunday out of Utica, so hopefully we'll have good weather. We'll let you know later.

Bye for now.
