... when it was in the shadow of a haunted house, and countless tacky touristy stalls. The worst part of it all is the fact that Bran Castle doesn't even really have a connection with Vlad Tepes - the only possible link is that he may have spent a few nights in the castle at one point.

But don't let that stop the massive tourist machine from continuing to push the hype, using it to extract every possible dollar out of the thousands of people ...

Before I knew it we were landing, and 15 minutes later I was picking up my luggage (very quick! bravo Bucharest airport, and Busapest for not losing my case) and meeting Dudu and Tibi, Ioana's sister and her sisters husband. We then commenced a 3 hour road trip north to Brasov, and up in the mountain valley I started seeing snow and it even ...

... I had not been able to find the restaurant recommended the day before. He clarified the location on the map, and I decided I would have lunch there after buying my boots. He also told me to check out Rope Street, which is the narrowest street in Europe. He showed me where to find it on the map.

I headed into town once more. On Republic Street, I saw a pair of boots in the window that looked promising. I was in ...
