... and stealing to killing, could be punished by impalement. Being so confident in the effectiveness of his law, Dracula placed a golden cup on display in the central square of Targoviste. The cup could be used by thirsty travelers, but had to remain on the square. According to the available historical sources, it was never stolen and remained entirely unmolested throughout Vlad's reign. Crime and corruption ceased; commerce and culture thrived, and many Romanians ...

First of all the sheep had long tails like dogs, the sheep were really dirty, the shepherd had a staff and was wearing a huge coat and hat just like in pictures! When we got to the castle, which was fun as we were driving in thick snow haha we walked around the markets. We then walked up to the castle which was a mission as it ...

... horrifying...and after we went through about 50 school children followed us. It was weird, I hope none of them looked up! The other thing we saw this day was Peles Castle. Built in the 1800's when Romania decided to become a monarchy. It was closed when we got there...looked nice from the outside though! Thursday found us quickly stopping at Brasov again to see the inside of the Black Church and then hitting the road to go see the newly opened Rupea fortress. It was one of the highest ...

... with both are common. 5. Romania is a country where it is still far behind in times compared to Western countries. Aside from the visible horse and cart that is still commonly used, I refer more to their postal services, public holidays where an entire town will shut down and customer service skills (more so lack of). 6. They have good cheap beer and wine, we're talking $2NZD for 500ml and $2.50NZD for a generous serving of white wine. Me likey! 7. Some Romanians ...
