    ... decorated with frescos on the roof. I loved the little square outside the church with the usual cafes and restaurants but also the local fruit shop. There were actually two stalls. Alone bigger one selling a variety of fruit and vegetables and another small stall with a lady that was selling what looked like zucchini flowers and I assume zucchini We walked down to the wharf and on the way past another Christopher Columbus statue that looked exactly like the one in Barcelona. ...

    ... was not too busy. It also has a butterfly/bird area and lots of good exhibits on coral reefs. We had planned to go to the reputedly best hamburger place in Genoa. Big crowd; we waited for about 10 mins then took it to eat on the steps of the Duomo. It was huge, very cheesy but a bit undercooked for our North American tastes. In fairness to Fodors (although we also got caught by a restaurant that they rate as $, which was more like $$ or $$$), other tourists were just as frustrated as us. I think this is a living example of the trouble the Italian economy is in.
