The pilot was on board and apparently no sign of this couple. We were on our balcony to watch as we prepared to sail. Lots of others were aware of the saga unfolding too. Would they sail without them!?!? 4.45 then 5.00 and still no sign of anyone. Gangplank pulled in and by 5.15 we had ropes off and were about 2 or 3 metres ...

... the island and you have to travel a ways to reach them. We explored the town of Rhodos, which included some nice, albeit pebbly beaches, restaurants and, of course, the original site of the Colossus at Rhodes. Sadly there is nothing left except for stag statues in its place. Despite this, we still had a nice day exploring the nearby crusader castle and the markets that now occupy it. We each purchased a couple of souvenirs and headed ...

Tony greeted us with a "Kalimera" almost as warm as the morning Rhodes sun. What a beautiful place! We drove around the bay to the marina where we saw the site of our second wonder of the ancient world this trip, the foot rests of the Colossus. Today the home of the two mascots of the Rodos people, the Male and Female Deer. Its also the home of the largest church in Rhodes with such an impressive interior the kids converted to catholicism on ...
