... a young guy from Vancouver who was also headed for Bangkok. There is no doubt that had I not befriended James I would not have gotten on that flight. And who knows what troubles would have become after missing that flight as I found the people of China to be unfriendly, unhelpful and english deprived. Stepping out of the airport around 2 AM, I was blown away by the high heat and humidity of Bangkok, my breathing improved. James and I shared a taxi to downtown ...

I woke up early because the room was too cold.. that was quite unexpected. We got a cab to MBK shopping centre but it wasnt open yet. Whilst wondering what to do next, a tuk-tuk driver (a road worthy moped/lawnmower with back seating attachment) asked if we wanted to see the 'export centre' so we went. The tuk-tuk ride was fun, quite nerve racking. the export centre was nice, loads of jewels and the room was stunning. They had sharks in the middle of it!

While we waited to see who would be sitting by me, Diana joined me at the front, sitting to my right. Five minutes later, we found that the seat belonged to a young girl. Her parents, sitting in the two seats to her right, didn't want to switch. Diana took the seats to our left and we waited.

The River Kwai is famous because it is known as the death march or death bridge from World War 2. Apparently the Vietnamese walked all the Prisoner's of War all the way from Vietnam to The bridge into Thailand and the majority of the soldiers died on the way or shortly afterwards from the exhaustion and lack of food etc. sad story but the bridge is ...

I love the BTS sky train system because for 120TBH I get an unlimited daily pass which takes me pretty much everywhere I need to go.
