... farewell to the gang, and a bonus five days with Sharena in Swindon (where my next blog post will be posted). On Sunday we spent most of the day cooking a group roast. Katy taught me how to make roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. On the side there was homemade gravy, stuffing, carrots and parsnips. For dessert Katy made a delicious apple cake with custard.

But the good eating didn't stop there. Monday evening we gathered at Lao's 202 buffet ...

Yesterday we started our day by driving to Dunfermline because dad's grandma was born there. We had some chocolate cake there. When we were driving we went over the 4th bridge which has its 50th anniversary this weekend. After that we drove to Glasgow and stayed in a lodge house that was really fancy. ...

We left Newcastle today to beautiful bright sky's and sun shine. It just so happened that The Great Northern Run was on today and 10s of thousands of runners had invaded Newcastle. It's a big affair with runners coming from all over the Uk to compete and raise money for charity. It was going to be a huge trip into Scotland so we settled in for the long haul.
