It is difficult to see the artists at work and it would have been even more difficult to bring an art piece home even if we had got near enough. The Hat set sail from the "Skinny Bridge".

Freed by a sudden gust of wind and loose from its tether off it sailed North Westwards up the Amstel. Narrowly avoiding two, glass topped, pleasure cruisers and a police launch it quickly gathered momentum using both wind and current.

Turning right at the New Herengraght canal it slipped easily and confidently under the footbridge.

The day started and ended with cold wet weather but Gemma was a star and got us through the early morning Leeds traffic to Leeds Bradford airport on time for our flight to Amsterdam.
We had breakfast in the business class lounge and a nice lunch on the plane although I think the only distinction in flight was a curtain across the plane at a strategic point. Apparently it was only an intercity hopper Fokker 70 so what can one ...
