On Tuesday we drove out to Montauk Point Lighthouse, located on the easternmost point of Long Island.
On the way to the lighthouse there are lookouts, one the Oyster Pond. The Oyster Pond is a natural pond within the bay. The water fills it when the tides come and then fish are trapped inside when the tide goes out. The Indians would catch fish in it.

Today we are set to go to Essex as a stop over before cape cod. Last night at dinner thought we might visit Yale, as it is on the way, sort of, and there is nothing else that was on the agenda. Before that we had another lovely breakfast prepared by Peter and we also had a great discussion over breakfast with not only the Aussies, but also the family of Americans. ... cousin had nicely got up (fairly unheard of I think) and made me breakfast which was really sweet. Once back in New York I did a bit if shopping before I went to meet Sara at her work. I pretty much spent the rest of the day wandering around New York, doing a bit of shopping and checking some last minute things out. I went to the New York marble cemetery, which was shut and not that great.
