... valley between the mountains. There was a small cow farm and hotel there - it had a fun little flying fox that we all had fun on. The view up the next valley towards the tall snow covered mountains was fantastic. We could see many waterfalls coming down the sides of the mountain, also pouring out of caves/holes in the mountain! A bit more exploring then the walk ...

... so Tom took the kids out in the boat while I looked on. After that we walked back to the gondola and had a go on the toboggan cart run they have there. What a view from the carts! Kids loved it. We arrived at Basel on the overnight train at about 6.30am. Trains: Basel to Bern, then Bern to Kandersteg We dropped our bags at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre at about 10 in the morning and walked 20 min into town. ... onto the piste sitting too far back and fell in the next turn. I then slid down the slope for probably 100m. It was in slow motion, I was travelling slowly and tried to dig in my elbows but nothing was working Finally I managed to turn my skis to below me and roll onto an edge. It was such a slow slide that I had all my equipment with me and the only problem was that I was lying down in the middle of the run! ... gathered the scattered equipment and offered JJ sweets.
Once the shock has died down, JJ was more concerned about the fact that his coat has been damaged in the incident.
We headed down the slope as we were planning to have a break anyway. At the bottom of this run is the entrance to the terrain park, and JJ was keen to be filmed by me as he went through the jumps. The incident did not knock his skiing confidence!
