Little Tiny Steps...

We said goodbye to Joy yesterday evening which was a bit emotional. I can not wait to go myself right now. 11 Weeks and 3 days before I land in Rio. Not that I am counting!

I am yet again one step closer though: After booking the tickets, moving bedrooms, forever not trying to spend any money and Joy leaving already, I decided to tell work about my traveling plans. It was such a relief! Slowly but surely my time will come! Muahahaaa!

Dartmouth and Dartmoor

Today we went for a drive to Dartmoor, a seaside village at the mouth of the River Dart.

For lunch I had a pasty (I love Cornish Pasties!) and an English Toffee icecream with clotted cream - yum!

In the evening we drove back to Liskeard through Dartmouth National Park, which had some great views (hard to photograph though unfortunately) and we even nearly hit a wild horse which ran out in front of the car!

For those who don't believe in fate.....read on

Why, you may well be asking, does a blog about our "Indo China Experience" start in the chocolate box village of Stoke Gabriel in Devon's bucolic South Hams? Well, it was whilst on a long weekend in Devon in May 2009 that we decided beyond all doubt that I absolutely had to be brave and ask my boss for some extended leave in order to work as volunteers in Cambodia. And it was indeed the fickle hand of fate that turned my procrastination into ...

A cute stopover

... is not really a speed demon, but the slower pace suits us fine as we are in no hurry... it also conserves fuel which is important considering the distance we will be covering over the next few months. So we don't really go faster than 50 mile/hr (80km/h for the aussies at home) and we avoid the motorways as there generally is ...

CHICK.............CHICK...............CHICK..

Well a bit behind with the blog due to no connection so here is a quick update.
We booked into Middlewick farm for a few days before going to Dad's and Mo's for a few days whilst "No Fixed Abode" was away being fitted with a tow bar.
The farm site was very quiet and relaxing, full of sweet smells of dung and pig poop!!!!
Truck dog Poppy thought it was great fun chasing the chickens!!
Hope you like the vid and pics.

MY BOYS BEATEN UP OUTSIDE OUR FAMILY CARAVAN

... there is know way of identifying the others.
There was no street lights outside our caravan or to the lane that run along side it, so all i saw was 2 fights going on outside my van and heard a lot of screaming, until i realised it was my children being beaten up. My eldest had 4 lads on top of him!!!!

The caravan we were staying in was discusting. The small rooms were mouldy and damp ...

The Journey Starts...

... quite a bit later.
Once on the coach (a whole hour and fifteen minutes later) I fell asleep in no time. So so tired!

At the moment I am sitting in seat 70D which is the last row of seats in the plane and I will be sat here for the next 11 hours. So far Thai boxing and the Phi Phi Islands have been recommended. I hope to visit both of them.

And the adventure has begun..."
