... with views of the lake. Dog friendly, so we sat on the porch with Maggie May and half a dozen other dogs..We do love our dogs.:) Also the sierras make some HUGE Pine Cones.. I have never seen such big ones , ever! I'm going to bring some back to Florida and deposit in my front courtyard. Also saw Hugh Redwoods, but didn't get any pics ...

... a slope. We all had a go and I lost control at first but I got up and tried again and after a few turns I was an expert. We moved on from the easier slope to a steeper slope. Which I got the hang of pretty quickly and soon after that we travelled to the chairlift and went down a much longer and steeper slope. While we were skiing we had to do some turns to slow down. It worked but I need to try and make my turns ...

... the main street buildings. It was freezing cold up there. I knew it was around 27-30 degrees up there, so I had backup layers that I had to throw on. The sun was beautiful, but there was a slight breeze that was killing me.

... of the Lake. We set out on foot to find a restaurant with a lake view and Jake's on the Lake fit the bill perfectly. Good food and wine on the outdoor deck was a nice way to end the day. I couldn't help thinking of the months of difficult travel the pioneers endured compared to our one-day trip.

... into total chaos. We spent our first night together deep in a thick forest; it might have been difficult not to - Oregon appears to be one huge forest. The trees are not as individually perfect as they are around Vancouver, but they are still very tall and very lovely, and the night sky was awesome - resplendent with stars.
