... the end of the night and the conclusion of our time together we had an overall winner. Sara was still on 0, Jess was still on 0, Brett was on 2 wins and Tim on 3!!!!! Anyone who knows Tim is probably aware that he is slightly competitive and may not even be surprised to hear this result. When we were all reunited, everyone fed and kids tucked into bed, we sat down for our nightly ritual of an evening board game, once more it was Settlers of Catan. When we went to sleep tonight the tally stood at Tim 2, Brett 2, Sara 0, and Jess 0. This morning we were served whole wheat waffles and pancakes with fresh Maine blueberries. At this point I should add that one of Brett's favorite lines and one that he trotted out at least once a day, was: "they're made with whole wheat flour, so they're healthy and ...

... each other, hugged each other and all clamored at the same time in order to be heard. By the time the reconvening had taken place, the kids were ready for an activity and Sara took them to the local lake, Weld Lake, and the corresponding beach, Dummers. Brett, Tim and Jess stayed home to clean up and Brett started and continued in what would be a recurring theme for our time in Weld; baking bread and cookies. Today, we were also creating a lemon, blueberry cake with ...
