"Sweet home Alabama, big wheels keep on turnin." We decided to "mix it up" on our road trip through the states so chose a rural setting for Alabama. We stayed in Loxley in Baldwin County and our farm wasn't even on google maps! Our host Jerod gave us directions that included such things as turn right when the gravel turns to a dirt road and take a left at the rickety bridge. ... line of thunderstorms that was moving from Lake Charles, LA to the northeast. We were wrong.

Anticipating some light and intermittent rain, I had layered up with my TASC Performance white long-sleeved t-shirt and a heavier regular short-sleeved t-shirt over it. We left the Hampton Inn Downtown Mobile at 8:15 and quickly found I-10 heading west. The new destination was Austin, TX.

... nice, but of course it made me determined to find something to buy. It transpired that the only sandwich he could make fresh was a meatball sandwich. Tim ordered that and I waited to see what it looked like, as I have never eaten a meatball sandwich before. It looked quite good so I ordered one too.
