    ... Clothing, especially footware, is equipment. Period.

    Ride today was ~350 miles. Hit heavy rain right outside Montreal until maybe 50k inside the Ontario border. At one point the skies turned to night and the heavens opened. Got some water under the screen of the phone. Still operational fortunately.

    ... surviving split log outside toilet from the era, sadly swathed in plastic as it is being repaired/conserved, an elaborate four seater (doors were closed) and the elaborate single seater that must have belonged to someone quite well-off ... see the picture.

    Now, consider, the height of the Canadian winter. Cold. Very Cold. VERY VERY Cold. Snow on the ground/ SnowDRIFTS piled high ... and an outside dunny!

    Chamber Pots must have been very very popular in winter!
