... heavy and we were driving all of 30 mph. After 50 miles of this we arrived at Pete's RV Sales in Williston just as they were locking up. They were so kind. They had us pull in the back of their building and hook up to water and electric and said they'd be back on Monday. ... They were built over corn stalks with round heads and hats. We saw all sorts of costumes including roaring 20’, the sixties, the 70s, etc., and outfits from different walks of life. A spokesperson for the village said, the kookier and brighter the outfit, the better. Villagers put these “leaf people” out at the autumn equinox and they attract visitors to the village.

... outdoors in North Woodstock, at the Woodstock Inn, amid gardens ablaze with canna, dahlias and New Guinea impatiens. Dave had an open-faced meatloaf sandwich on thick cut toast topped with mashed potatoes and gravy. He said it was as good as his moms.
