... I-86, but about three to five miles to the north, so it was quiet and peaceful except for the sound of the wind, and tires on the road. The tailwind helped push us along, and we found we were averaging almost 17 miles an hour! At mile 30 we stopped for a snack (the extra doughnuts from breakfast!), and sat on the side of the road admiring the sage, mountains in the distance, and glorious morning!

Another item that I noticed, was Lynn once again at the wheel of Fiona. Yep, she made another appearance and drove over seventy miles. A fine job she did, if I do say so myself!

... they do fail and get far behind the other teams. There are often when the horse they jump off of can’t slow down and just tramples the rider. This is all done without a saddle! We both thought this was the highlight of the fair.

... rock indeed! Then we drove 400 miles or so to get close to the Craters of the Moon. Breakfasted at Denny's on the way (good grub) and tea at Taco Bell ( not such good grub) but a first time for me at both and a Taco Bell first for Lin. We'll go back to Denny's! ... they are having a convention in Spearfish, South Dakota and that is where they are headed.

After we eat we head out toward Idaho Falls. This is pretty much just a driving day, so we do not expect anything eventful. As we drive we continue seeing the beautiful mountains that we have come to expect being out West. I can never get enough of them.
