Playa El Amor Mancora, Peru

Even though the film was set in Argentina I felt like the soundtrack
to The Mission by Ennio Morricone mustve been playing as I came down
the coast of peru in a colectivo taxi. On earth as it is on heaven.
The sunset with its colours painted an amazing backdrop to the moving
road. Sure the way getting there was arduous and way too longbut the
journey sure was amazing. My travelmates however were not so much. I'm
glad they ditched me to go to another hostel. I stayed at...

... we arrived in Mancora a small little beach
town where loads of tuk tuks patrol the streets waiting to pick up
tourists and take them 2 mins down the road!!!
well the beach was so welcoming after
all that time at altitude and the cold and the people being ill then
the 39 hour bus ride.
The place looked like a Greek or med
resort, the pool looked really inviting. The rooms were ...
... sim.

Had a 9am bus to Mancora. All the girl were heading south, so we parted ways.
People had been telling me that if I went to Mancora to stay in the Loki hostel. Anyway, I rocked up there and got told that it was 25 soles a night (steep by standards here, but like $9 Australian). Nearly told the bird at the desk to get stuffed, but she offered to walk me around.
The place was more like a hotel with a pool, bar, etc, etc. So I ...

Hot and windy
yesterday Tumbes - Mancora (105 kms) with a headwind!
As we left Tumbes we were back to rice paddies either side of the road, that eventually gave way to scrubland, and finally desert. We rode by the sea for a while, passing small resorts that this time of year are completely deserted. By the time we needed to eat we discovered that 'blobs' on the map in Peru don't mean the same as 'blobs' on the map ...
So after recovering from the Pisco sours and the later than usual evening, we set off on a tour of local mud baths, beautiful beaches, and the coastal mangroves. So tours in South America are very different than those in Canada. First an english speaking guide does not always mean that they speak english. Second if you think that you book a tour with 3 people and join a larger group later you are mistaken. We showed up to the store where we bought our ...

... do getting up on the board, but he struggles more with catching waves. He manages to stand up on his board only to have the wave roll under him as he goes over it like a fishing bobber in the water.
Well, Andy figures out and surfs around us on his first day while Eric and I just paddle to nowhere and drink saltwater. Andy surfed for the afternoon while Eric and I sunburned trying. We spent the rest of our time in Mancora walking around the beach town ...
... off and found the nearest hostel to the bus terminal as I was struggling. Got in and from there it just got worse. Shane went to buy tablets for vomiting and squirts, dry biscuits, Sprite, water, the list went on. Couldn't keep anything down though, was getting ridiculous. Same the next day, and that night I went to vomit again in the bathroom but fainted and fell into the shower. When I came to, Shane was looking down at me and I realised where I was. I got up ...
Máncora, Piura, Peru shanemilli... nazca. It was brutal. That day we all decided to leave and try a place called Loki. The outside architecture is greek and the inside design is completely unfinished. The place give you a wrist band which signifies "im a gringo in mancora and i want to get totally f-ed up" I felt like i was in cancun. Every night is party night. You will no doubt be up until 2 am when they last call the bar. On the way up to mancora ...
