We got on the Freeway for a while and then took local roads into Chico. Chico is a very cool college town but at 92 degrees, not very cool today. Toured the town and campus and made friends with a scooter girl (joined ...

... gift and the joy of the moment.

I ended up camping in a town called Stagecoach. The first person I met was AJ, the Stagecoach market owner. I handed him my card and told him what I was doing. Instantly, he treated me like a good friend. He has a special book that is reserved for passing "Adventurers" and he requested that I sign it. That was so cool. I was also offered a free spot on the property to camp. That was also a tremendous gift as ...

We drove all the way to the end of the park's road and took the camel pack with us on a shorter trail that led us around Broken Top Crater, and very much enjoyed the scenic overlook at the top which allowed us a broad view of the lava flows which stretched for miles. After our hike it was time to leave Craters of the Moon, and we headed south toward ...

... Bremerton. He was on a
Thunder Mountain Chopper, (looked very uncomfortable) but he seemed
to just keep going. We ended up running into him 3 times before we
left him in our dust. After he left that gas station, we were
getting our gear back on and some couple came over to us and asked us
where in WA we were from. We told them and then they said they had
spent a lot of time in Olympia, but now have settled in Montesano.
